At this moment, Rubber-like can’t be produced and distributed in the United States due to distribution restrictions, not even by third parties.
Rubber-like is a strong, highly flexible and durable material. It’s abrasion-resistant, displays a limited level of detail, and has a sandy, granular look. The technical name of the material is TPU 92A-1. TPU 92A -1 is a thermoplastic polyurethane derived from Shore A92.

Pricing Info

The pricing for Rubber-like is based on model volume, which is the volume of your model used to calculate the material cost (mm³).

If you order two or more copies of a model, the price automatically decreases because the preparation of multiple copies can be carried out more efficiently.

Typical Use

Rubber-like can be used for fashion pieces, jewelry, shoe soles, prototypes or squeezable gadgets.

Laser Sintering

Laser Sintering is used to build your design with this material. The models are printed layer by layer by a laser that draws thin lines in the powder, which melts and bonds it together in order to form a thin layer of the model. After a layer is printed, a new layer of fresh powder is spread over the surface by a roller. The printer has a print chamber that is heated to just below the melting point of the powder; the laser beam adds the extra energy to melt the powder, forming a solid model. After the print job is finished, the result is a big block of heated powder with the printed models contained inside.

Additional Information

  • A patent currently limits our ability to offer this material to everyone. This means we can’t produce, sell, or distribute objects made with TPU 92A-1 in the USA. Unfortunately, this also restricts our customers when importing TPU-based products in the USA. In other regions, these restrictions do not apply
  • Rubber-like models are squeezable but very difficult to stretch

Sample Kit

Learning about our materials is one thing, seeing and touching them another. That's why we've designed sample kits based on our Periodic Table of Materials.
